☆Workshop: "Resolving Conflict"
(under The Leadership Excellence Series): 10-15'±30"
TM RS raised as Causes of Conflicts, Personality, Style, Misunderstanding and Difference of Opinion. As its solution, she raised, Ignore, Smooth it over, Force, Compromise and Collaboration. Her workshop was conducted with logics and visual aids. Time spent: 11'02". The audience gave her a big hand.

Evaluation Session: TM T Ok explained about what is evaluation and its merit.
The first evaluator: TM NT for TM K Ii’s speech: 3'23" spent; Appreciated for TM Ii's effort of getting a picture of Haramachida station, but Conclusion was unclear., Sandwich Style evaluation was done.
The evaluation of Workshop: TM TK for: TM RS’s Workshop: 3'17". Use of examples was good, and selection of the topic was valuable.

横浜ベイスターズのラミレス選手は 13 年間も日本滞在して 1000 本の安打達成、40-50 代でハローワークに再就職で環境が変われば、其れに合わせることが必要と熱意をもって話された。所要時間7分30秒。

個人論評: 第2番: TM K Im, 第2番準備スピ-チの論評。
色々なエピソードを交えて話しぶりからイメージが分かって、完璧なスピーチだった。 敢えて言えば、少し早口だった。所要時間3分19秒。

タイトルを凌駕するス―ピーチだった。具体例が多くて説得力がある。相手のヤル気を起こさせる話だった。所要時間3分13秒。

President TM Ken Iの話: 「"痴漢に注意" の看板では効き目が無かった。しかし、"住民の皆様のおかげで痴漢を逮捕することができました。ありがとうございました" と替えたら効き目が有った。これは "痴漢する人" に対して、"痴漢しなければ逮捕されることは無いよ" という "メリット" を強烈に伝えています。我々も、スピーチで人に行動を促す際には、"メリット" を強調することで、より強力なメッセージを伝えることができるのではないか」

生まれ故郷の大分県中津市には "からあげ" 専門のお店が50軒くらい有る。それほど大分県民は "からあげ" が大好物である。外はカリカリ、中はジューシーであることが特徴とか。クリスマスにも "からあげ" を食べるのは当たり前。過去にはケンタッキーフライドチキンが進出したが、数年で撤退したほどであるとか。

現在のスピーチ・スキル: まず、聴き手の前でスピーチすることに関しては、今回がそれに当たる。アイコンタクトをしていた。声の大きさ、スピードも丁度良い。自然な笑顔で話をしていた。
今後のスピーチ・スキル: テーマ選びに苦労したようですが、これは他の人のスピーチを数多く聞くことにより、どのようなテーマ選びをしているかを参考にして欲しい。また、ジェスチャーやボディランゲージについては、ただ机の前に立つだけではなく、もう少し広く使っていいのではないかと思うが、それもスピーチの回数を重ねて行くうちに身に着けられると思う。

"The Visionary Leader" from The Leadership Excellence Series
What is the leader? What is the vision?  Of　course, leader means he/she shows us the way we should forward to. Vision means mental picture. A good leader has the vision such as a good conductor and a good teacher. For example, a good teacher shows student their goal with words. We call such a teacher as "the visionary leader." 

Evaluation for the 3rd speech: TM YH (3'39")
The speech was so well as CC#4. Simple words and simple sentences were very easy to understand what you meant. Rhetoric of joke was so good, but It was better to put the words "regain our confidence" as your main message at the beginning of speech, rather than the joke portion.

Evaluation for the 4th speech: TM TK (3'42")
It was good challenge and speech was very good. PowerPoint slides of "Education Circle" helped us understand your speech easily. It was good you mentioned your speech purpose at the beginning. Simple words you used helped us understand your intention. It would be better if you made slide for the example of vision.

 - Different expressions between Americans and Britons are instructive. Americans say "Hey, jump up!" while Britons say "Please jump up."
 - Very embarrassing , Conscience, Virtues, As a result , etc, choice of words is good.
 - Common vision, Benefit, etc, choice of words is appropriate.
 - "Benefit" can be used both as a Noun and a Verb. e.g. "Benefits" of the members "benefit the organization"
 - "Jargon" a technical term is good because it increases vocabulary.
 - "I could not catch up -"; "I could not catch up with -" both are colloquial expressions.
 - "As you know -", and "As you may know -" both are good expressions.

最初に音楽の効果を挙げて，音楽に対する興味の個人差にかかわらず，スピーチへの興味をそそった点はすばらしい．本論で音楽の感動の共有を述べたこともよかった．曲の例を挙げて説明した点もよかった．「音楽のコツ」を「音楽を楽しむコツ」と置き換えて，もっと多くの曲事例やその他の具体的事例を挙げて示すとなおよかった．

個人論評/ Individual Evaluation #2: TM SI (3'24") Best!
大成功．モロッコの説明で具体性が沸いた．「59番」の導入と翌日に逢えなかった残念さの表現がよかった．立ち姿，スタンディングポイント，アイコンタクト，表情がよかった．メモなし自信にあふれたスピーチ．接続詞の使い方など文法も完全であった．「心残り」をより真に迫った表現があればなおよかった．

今回の例会は、前半インハウスコンテスト、間に休憩を挟み、後半通常例会を行いました。初めに会長からコンテスト参加者及びメンバーへ、「敗者の学び」の説得力ある、かつユーモラスなお話があり、ゲストの紹介後、ほどよい緊張感と和やかな空気の中コンテストが始まりました。コンテスト議長のTM R.S.より今日の会の流れの説明後、TM T.K.より「皆で審査員を体験しよう！」というタイトルで日本語コンテストワークショップが行われました。スピーチコンテストの審査方法（目的、種類、審査員資格、審査員としての注意点、審査基準、審査員倫理規定）を各自審査用紙を用い確認し合い審査員の体験をさせてもらいました。メンバー一同コンテストへの理解を一層深めることができ有意義な時間を持つことができたと思います。その後、日本語ワークショップ内コンテストへと移りました。参加者は２名です。

１．「ジーナの法則」（自由になれる法則）　TM T.A.
バレンタインチョコから３つの幸せを定義。①もらう幸せ　②与える幸せ　そして①、②のwin-win関係とは全く違う報酬を期待しない③奉仕の幸せ。TM T.Aが選んだ幸せの定義は③。因みに「自由になれる法則・ジーナの法則」はTM T.Aご本人があみだした法則。

２．「情けは人の為ならず」　TM T.O.
寛容さ、屈託のなさ、慈悲深さが文化に浸み込んだアメリカ人の国民性に助けられた、ご自身の体験の数々を紹介され、今一度「情けは人の為ならず」の精神を日本人は思い起こし行動に移すことが大切なのではないか、という貴重なメッセージをスピーチに託しました。

スピーチ終了後、TM R.S.よりTM T.A. とTM T.O.にそれぞれコンテスト参加証明書が渡されました。

Now let’s move on to the International Speech Contest.
First TM R.S, the Contest Chair, introduced the Chief Judge, the Timer, the Vote Counter and the SAA.
Then she explained the contest procedures and rules.
Chief Judge TM S.S. announced that it was time to begin the contest. Finally the contest started.
There were four speakers in the English Contest.

1. "My 6-year Old Mother" TM T.A.
TM T.A. expressed how her feelings about her mother changed through her life. Now she understood everything of her mother. Her heartwarming speech brought tears to some members' eyes.

2. "Outstanding Nationality" TM Y.I.
TM Y.I. was impressed by generosity of people in Holland and admires the rich economy there. We learned excellent national characteristics of Holland. His experiences suggested the Holland is the happiest country in the world.

3. "White Piano" TM K.T.
TM K.T. ran across a white piano on her journey to find herself in Karuizawa. After listening to her speech, we can imagine how much she was struggling to say "I want the white piano in my house!" This was her true mind. She has always put others first. Her husband's reaction was...?!

4. "A Queen of Queens" TM S.I.
TM S.I. shared some valuable information about Queen "Himiko" with us through a history book written by her old friend, who is a professor in Beijing University. Her speech had an interesting viewpoint comparing two other famous queens; "Cleopatra" and "Yang Guifei".

All four participants were given certificates of participation after their presentations and then they were interviewed by TM K.Im. She gave two questions, which were "Why did you choose the title of your speech?" and "What was the strongest point in your speech?" Each speaker answered in a relaxed mood as they were relieved from the tension of the contest.
After the interview the Winners of the Japanese Speech Contest were announced. TM T.O. was awarded the First Place Certificate and TM T.A. was awarded the Second Place Certificate. TM T.O. and TM T.A. proceeded to the Area 45 Speech Contest representing our club. Congratulations!
Next the Winners of the International Speech Contest were presented. TM K.T was awarded the First Place Certificate and TM T.A. was awarded the Second Place Certificate. TM K.T. and TM T.A. proceeded to the Area 45 Speech Contest representing our club. Congratulations!

5分の休憩を挟みいつもの例会に移りました。準備スピーチが１つのため賞の対象にはなりませんでした。

「大好きな日本人メジャーリーガーの凄さについて」 TM T.O. 8'03"

TM T.O.はイチロー選手の野球選手としての凄さだけではなく、彼の数々の名言を取りあげ、人間としての凄さを訴えかけました。走・攻・守そして心・技・体のパワーをバランスよく持ち得た、イチロー選手に感銘を受けるTM T.O.の熱い思いが伝わりました。

☆個人論評 TM Y.H. 3'22"
プロジェクトの課題（価値、準備、結び）に沿った構成でスピーチがなされていたと評価されました。通し番号・表使用の勧め、タイトルで聞き手が引きつく工夫など、絶妙なアドバイスがなされ、次回３回裏のTM T.O.のスピーチが期待されます。

Today's meeting was as exciting as usual.

First of all, our president gave an opening comment mentioning about the comparison between "TV shopping" and Toastmasters, and TMOE introduced "No X, No Y!" referring to "No music, No life" before introducing each speaker. We enjoyed a variety of speeches today.

Prepared Speech 1: "Nice to MITO You!" CC#6 TM TM (8'36")
He introduced many splendid things about MITO, which is far from Machida. And he made a speech that he want to become a mayor of Mito, and changed Mito more attracting city such as more beautiful lady.

Workshop 1: "Building Team" from the Leadership Excellence Series TM TO (15'56")
He emphasized the importance of leadership. He used the Projector and Screen skillfully with well-organized materials.

Evaluation 1: TM SS (2'41")
He pointed out that the speaker has good idea, unique and funny. In addition to that, good and natural voice, relaxed and confident. As an improvement point, he pointed out eye-contact.

ご自身の阪神大震災の経験から、神戸での管制官への志願までを、貢献の大切さを交えてお話しされていました。

おもしろおかしく紹介してくれました。

活き活きとしたスピーチ、時間を追ったスピーチ、ボディーランゲージ、ユーモア、町田を選んだことの５つの点を指摘していました。改善点として、「間」を指摘していました。

General evaluation: TM KIi
The introducing way of TMOD was excellent! She introduced "No X, NO Y!" before each speaker connected with the characters of them. The periods of three Table Topic speeches were within 1 minute. It would be better to keep on speaking more than 1 minute. And, each evaluator are good points and suggestion based on the sandwich way.

　Call to order
　大和TMC、厚木座間TMC、町田TMC及び田園都市TMCが合同で開催する最初のミーティングであり、全員で楽しんで、お互いに何かを学び、思い出になるミーティングにしましょうという挨拶をTM Wさんがされました。

Area governor M & Div. D governor Wさんが、自己紹介をされました。

Educational portion
TODのTM Sさんが、今回のミーティングで各クラブの違った良い面を見つけ、それらを各クラブに持ち帰り、有効活用しましようというアドバイスをされた後、スピーチが始まりました。

横浜市は、70歳以上の横浜市に住む高齢者に対して手厚い支援(敬老特別乗車証等)を実施しており、横浜に住むことを推薦しておられました。魅力ある市だと思いました。

「嘘も方便」とよく言われますが、嘘には良い嘘と悪い嘘があることを具体的な実例を使い漫談形式で紹介されていました。私も良い嘘は必要であると感じました。

人間は、自分を褒めることにより、自分自身のセルフイメージが上がり、前向きな気持ちになれることを本(音をたててモテだす本)より知り、そして、実践することにより、前向きになれたと話されていました。私も鏡の前で自分自身を褒めてみたいと思いました。

ロサンゼルスの知り合いの家にロングスティした時に、銃口を向けられたという経験談であり、銃口を向けた相手が安全装置を外したと聞いた時は、危機迫るのもがありました。アメリカの銃社会の問題点を浮き彫りにしたような話であり、私もアメリカに行った時は、1分でも部屋を空ける時は、必ずロックしようと思いました。

家の中に物が溢れ、50歳になった時には、一度断捨離が必要であるという話でした。私も53歳であり、家の中は物で溢れています。以前、断捨離をしようと思ったことはありましたが、思い出のある物が多く、なかなかできませんでしたが、断捨離が必要だと思いました。

インパクトのあるオープニング(中条きよしの「うそ」を熱唱)であり、1人で妻と夫の会話を演じていた時、声のトーンを変えることにより、役を演じ切っていたが良かったとの講評でした。改善点は、悲しい場面では、悲しいような話し方をした方が良いとのことでした。

ボディランゲージが良く、感情を顔の表情を使いうまく表現しており、話が興味を引く内容で良かった。ただし、アイコンタクトが前だけに集中していたので、もう少し左右も見た方が良かったとの講評でした。

銃口を向けられた時の状況等、それぞれの状況を詳細に説明しており、また、その時ボディランゲージもあったので、内容が良く理解できたとのことでした。ただし、銃口を向けられた時のジェスチャーはもっと大げさに驚いた方が効果的であり、アイコンタクトはもう少し全体を見た方が良かったとの講評でした。

タイトルが興味を引くタイトルであり、それぞれの状況(家に物が一杯ある等)を上手く説明し、話のメッセージも良く理解できたとのことでした。ただし、もう少し情熱的に話した方が聴衆の気を引けたのではないでしょうか?という講評でした。

英語は、冠詞が非常に重要であるので、冠詞に注意するようにと指摘されました。また、外国人の目線から見た文法間違いを数多く指摘されました。

Discussion session
各クラブのメンバーがグループAからDまで4グループに分かれて
　1, 役員に給料のような報酬を支払うべきか？
　2, ベストスピーカーにお金の報酬を支払うべきか？
以上2点について討論を約10分程度実施しました。
私は、Bグループで討論を実施しましたが、グループの平均年齢は60歳を超えていたと思います。しかし、討論を始めた途端、皆さんの素晴らしい英語には驚かされました。私も自由に自分の意見を英語で言えるようになりたいと思いました。
私のグループは時間が足りなく、「役員に給料のような報酬を支払うべきか？」についてだけ討論しましたが、一番多かった意見が、役員職は名誉職でありお金をもらうべきでないという意見が多かったです。ただし、交通費等どうしても必要な経費は支払っても良いという意見も多かったです。

本日は新年初の例会、TM T.M　のもと和やかな雰囲気で開催されました。

まずは会長のオープニング。インターネットのショッピングサイトのお話で皆さんの興味を引き付け、トーストマスターズはリーダーシップを養う場所と位置付け皆さんにお話ししました。

TV等の短いコマーシャルのフレーズ、またコーポレーションステートメント等を通して「短い言葉」が伝えたいことが明確にこめられていることを発見し、その可能性を定義し、皆さんに「短い言葉」が何を伝えたいか汲み取ってみてはと提言しました。

☆ワークショップ1: タイトル「Evaluate to Motivate」from Successful club series

評論と論評の違いを明確に提示し、励ますための論評は如何にすると良いか、効果的な論評とは、個人的なコメントとすると不誠実さを与えないなど具体的な論評のアドバイスがなされ論評の達人を目指しましょうと結びました。とても有意義なワークショップでした。

　「《短い言葉》には凄い力があると思わせるようなスピーチ」と語りかけ、《指を使ったボディ-ランゲージ》《冒頭の引き付ける力》《Stop Searching, Start Finding 等の短い言葉》の3つのスピーチの良い点、そして「机の前に出て聴衆との壁を取り払うと皆を引き付けられる。」と1つの改善点を示しました。

☆個人論評2: TM T.K (3分21秒)
　事前準備がきちんと為されており、独自のアイデア、また説得力のある素晴らしいワークショップでした。プロジェクター初挑戦にも関わらず、画面の確認をしながら聴衆のアイコンタクトもしていました。唯一の改善点はスライドが変わったときに少し間をとる事。

☆Workshop2: TM K.T　Title "Using Body Language" from The Better Speaker Series.  (15m18s)
The speaker told us about how important "Using Body Language" is. During speech "Facial Expression", "Gestures" and "Whole Body Movement" are essential. Also she mentioned that if you didn't use Body Language, people would have different expressions, and she indicated how to develop your communication skill using "Visual Expression" and how to become better speakers.

The work shop was useful and a really excellent opportunity for all toast masters. The exercise was really effective and very special for us. It showed us good example for good speakers during roll-playing. She indicated only one suggestion that if we stood up during roll-playing, it would be more clearly and easily to understand.

会長のオープニングの話は示唆に富んでいて良かった。TMOEのメンバー紹介に自分の視点から見た紹介もよかった。アジェンダは良くできていたが、日本語と英語の部をきちんと分ける、またワークショップの目的の説明を事前に乗せておく投票の視点になると提言が。
TM Ken.I とても良かったが「改善点」ではなく「より良いスピーチの提案」にしては。
TM T.K具体的な提案が為されていてよかった。クロージングの要点を述べるとより良いのでは。
TM T.K's evaluation was also very good, but one suggestion is that it's better to summarize the closing section of the workshop. Although it's her first time, the Table Topic was great, but one suggestion is that it will be better to repeat those questions.
