The 56th Machida Bilingual TMC regular meeting

The meeting was prepared as a rehearsal of area Japanese speech contest which MBTMC will be hosting on March 25^th. 2 contestants who won the in-house speech contest gave English speeches as a rehearsal. Also Contest Chair TM TO and Contest Judge TM RY gave each briefings before contest start. Also judges were pointed by Chief Judge for judge practicing. It was a first judge experience of judging for some of members. It was good experiencing meeting for many of members.

Prepared Speech 1  TM TK (no time recording due to contest rehearsal)  Manual : Storytelling, Project : 2 Let’s Get Personal, Title “Why I say thank you”.

TM TK introduced her childhood experience of jam-packed train to commute to elementary school. Some gentleman had always protected her in the jam-packed train, but she never had a chance to say thank you to him. It was a very interesting story and thought-provoking speech.

Evaluation 1　TM RY (3m29s)

TM RY commented good points, such as good construction and warm atmosphere, and she suggested. 

Prepared Speech 2  TM TA (no time recording due to contest rehearsal) Manual : Contest basis, Title “Protect your Dream”.

TM TA introduced her two experiences of dream come true. One was going to USA and coming back with English speaking skill, and the other was joining to TMC and becoming a public speaker. It was successful stories of her to encourage audience.

TM YI commented good points of the speech such as cheerful and clear to understand, and he suggested.

TM YHさんは事前準備やブリーフィング、司会の進行について準備がされている事を指摘されました。改善点として、例会の議題をもう１日早く準備すべき点と、コンテスタントへの皆さんからのコメントが、コンテスタントの次回スピーチに役立つ点を指摘されました。

Business Portion : TM　YHさんより、エリアスピーチコンテストの町田BTMCからの日本語コンテスタントの募集を本日の１２時で打ち切ることと、応募が無い場合にはクラブからは１名のコンテスタントの参加で進める説明がありました。

Before the meeting, MBTMC decided to accept a new member.

It was the first joint meeting with Den-en Toshi Toastmasters Club, even though it was very cold day.

無線LANを使用する際の最低限のセキュリティー対策を３点紹介され、ハンドアウトを使って説明されました。非常に実用的なスピーチでした。

TM NY pointed what people believe will become true. It was interesting points he introduced by example of disease healing, brain therapy and mortality of gel fish.

Title : “Game Changing”

TM KN introduced story of wedding ceremony which turned undesired result. But there was a way to change the game by wedding this time.

Prepared Speech 4 TM I(D) (6m58s)  CC#4 : How to say it

Title : “Crisis of the Earth”

TM I pointed out 3 things, 1. Collision of galaxy, 2. Sun getting older, 3. Asteroids hit the earth. Current earth is so busy to forecast other things, such as economy and fighting. If we are serious, we should solve those crises, instead.

Title : “TURTLR AND LEOPARD”

Turtle rode on the back of Mr.Leopard likes house riding as turtle said. It was interesting story and let us thinks why turtle did.

Steve Jobs as a ghost showed up and spoke about his best friend of Woz. Then he went back to heaven. It was interesting story to hear from passed away Steve Jobs.

名前、タイトル、構成の3つの良い点と、改善点として最初にPCを含めた話であることを最初に言ったほうが良いとの論評を展開。

TM N pointed speech gave a concrete message. TM N suggested using shorter sentences and clear easy experiences to use.

TM T pointed it was strong speech and topic was also good. TM T suggested taking pause after sentence.

TM YI pointed out 2 good points of selection of right words & sentences and using short sentence for easy to listen. TM YI suggested that topics may be for advanced manual such as 30min. session.

TM RY gave 3 good points, 1. Topic was good, 2. Repeating sentences, 3. Gesture & voice. And TM RY suggested that when asking audience the question, maybe needed some hints.

TM YH pointed 3 good areas, 1. Making occasion was good, 2. Humorous opening & ending, 3. Structure.
