TM MH served as a facilitater of the discussion ”How to solve the problem:less attendees”. The members chose the best solution from 3 proposals . Finally, we chose ”Make a meeting attractive”. 

2.How are you going to perform the master of ceremony role at the District 76 evaluation contest?(TM YH:6m50s)

TM YH made a speech as the master of ceremony at the contest with humors.

 1. For 1st speech(TM YH:3m21s)

TM YH made a motivational evaluation for TM MH’s work shop. Also gave suggestions for improvement. The advice were to make the speech title shorter and write the objectives of the discussion on white board.

 2. For 2^nd  speech (TM NY:4m18s)

TM NY made a evaluation  for TM YH’s speech. He pointed out good points and advised that it would be better to talk about the role the speaker did in the ceremony more detailed.

The GE commented on the English Session saying that TMOE's helper/speaker introductions were very smooth and reports of helpers were done well. And also made a comment on the evaluations, they were objective and useful.

TM RY delivered the famous Japanese folk tale, "Load Straw Stalk" [Warashibe Choujya] on a vivid and lyrical manner depicting the hero with a great deal of success at last.

TM NY provided the detailed comments on good points such as the way to describe the story in a vivid way, suggesting clearer vocal variety of each character in the story.

英語の部に引き続いて、日本語の部もスムースに進行したことに加え、TM TOとTM RYのスピーチの両内容が偶然に「運」をどうやって掴むかという点で共通し、興味深いことに触れ、論評されました。

今回の例会では、インハウス（クラブ内で）の論評コンテスト（英語、日本語）を行いました。

トーストマスターズクラブでは、会員のspeaking skill　を高めるためにスピーチに対する論評を行い、改善点などをフィードバックしています。

論評コンテストでは、出場者が同じスピーチに対してそれぞれ論評（制限時間１m30sec～3m30sec）を行い、分析力、アドバイスの有用性などを競います。

Test speech title: Welcome to　the power spot

Guest MM presented the speech about the story which she visited Ise-Jingu, one of the most famous shrine in Japan.She recommends to go the power spot in good season such as fall, not busy summer holiday.

  

After the test speech, each contestant pointed out some good points of the speech, such as lovely smile ,gesture and speech construction. And also gave advise to make the message clearer, and to change voice tone.

○日本語　論評コンテスト:出場者4名

英語の部に引き続き、日本語の論評コンテストが行われました。

テストスピーチのタイトル：一歩踏み出すために必要なもの

ゲストのＹＨさんは,新しい仕事を始めた時に大切な顧客を得るまでのお話をもとに「勇気をもって一歩を踏み出すこと」の大切さについてお話しされました。

各出場者はテストスピーチの良い点として、声の力強さ、ジェスチャーなどを挙げました。また改善点として、話題を取捨選択してメッセージを強調する、などを指摘しました。

すべての論評の終了後は、出場者への参加証の授与とインタビューが行われました。

また、授賞式では英語・日本語の部の各１位、２位の入賞者が発表されました。入賞者は10月16日（日）のエリアコンテスト（他のクラブも参加する一つ上位のコンテスト）

出場します。エリアコンテストでのご健闘をお祈りしております。

当クラブ会員出席者：7人

見学：2名（大和BTMCと立川TMCより応援。有り難うございました。）

会場は飲食禁止の視聴覚室、時間帯的につまみ食いの衝動にかられますが我慢我慢。遅刻者対応の為定刻よりやや午後7時5分に会長TKさんが開会宣言をされました。冒頭ＴＫさんから二十四節句の白露（今年は9/8）について、季節感あふれる説明がありました。続いて見学者紹介と会員自己紹介があり、その後司会のYH（兼議事録担当）へ引き継がれました。

今日の言葉「しなやか」とえーとカウンターの説明がYIさんからあった後、文法係の説明がTKさんからありました。集計係と計時係については、説明のみTKさんにお願いしました。

1人目のスピーカはSSさんで、CCマニュアル課題①アイスブレーカに基づき、仕事で発表事があり、その準備中に読んだある本に発表事の練習にTMを勧める記述があり、これを読んで入会を決意したという内容でした。原稿を全く使用せず、本の紹介だけでなく身振り手振りを取り混ぜた、自信が感じられる話し方でした。（5分9秒、NYさんが計測）。

アジェンダ上はここで個人論評となっていましたが、総合論評候補者を増やしたい、その技術向上を図りたいとの理由から、会長TKさんから総合論評虎の巻について説明がありました。

虎の巻の後はTKさんのご紹介により、KImさんが初の個人論評に挑戦されました。こちらも初めてとは思えないくらい自信に満ちあふれた論評でした。良かったところと改善提案を話されました（3分13秒、NYさんが計測）。

続いて総合論評者TKさんの短い説明に続いて、文法係（TKさん兼任）、えーとカウンターと今日の言葉の説明がYIさんからあり休憩となりました。

We then had an English language session controlled by TM YH (Toastmaster of the Evening, TMOE). Helpers such as Word of the Evening: TM YI (WD: flexible, elegant, slender), Grammarian: TM TK, Timer / Vote Counter: TM NY were introduced. There was one speakers in the English session.

The TZ presented her speech on the project of Your Body Speaks revealing her secrets from school days, focusing how she use to hate physical education classes but now realized the importance of doing exercise, which she also recommended fellow members to do (6’5”).

The next was Tabletopics Session presented by TM Guest YK. He first introduced his personal experience of moving around in Japan and abroad during school days, 19 times in total, mostly near Odakyu Line and set up a them of TT calling it as “Odakyu 3”. The first question was if a TT speaker has any policy on manner of taking trains, which went to TM TK. Her answer was that he tries to switch off her cell phone and try not to stay near priority seating areas (1’47”). The second question was about TT speaker’s experience of moving, the place he/she liked and reason, which was given to TM YI. He told the audience that he moved 20 times so far, which was one time greater than that of the TTM. TM YI spoke on his moving experience (1’20”). The third question was on how the TT speaker spends his/her time on train. This question went to TM NY, who said he enjoys listening to lectures, not music. No wonder why he speaks fluent English (2’08”).

After the TT was speech evaluation by TM Guest TF. He will be participating an upcoming area evaluation contest and he handled this evaluation smoothly, focusing on how TM TZ’s speech was effective and how it could be improved (3’15”).

TM TK then presented her general evaluation, covering multiple elements of the meeting in both Japanese and English. She also wore multiple hats, GE, Gramarian and CL evaluator. Thank you TM TK.

After the general evaluations, Ah Counter, Grammarian, and Word of the Day, provided their reports followed by the General Evaluator’s overall remarks.

TM TK then took over the control of the podium, asked for guest comments and announcements (Most importantly, dues are due!!!). The meeting was adjourned at 20:35, which was earlier than scheduled and a positive thing in Toastmasters. We then went to Hiroshima Tecchan (Tel 042-721-8228) for mega-size Okonomiyaki and drinks!!!.

コンテストのブリーフィングから始まりコンテストのリハーサルが時間通りに進められました。
本番さながらのリハーサルは普段よりも緊張感がありました。リハーサルをすることで本番の時に滞りなくする準備や手順を確認することができて良かったと思います。コンテストの結果は第1位　TM SS、第2位　TM HSでした。おめでとうございます。

TK spoke about conclusion regarding how to come up with a better way for a contest, based on brainstorming. The conclusion are:
rehearsal is necessary
it is important to understand the procedure very well prior to rehearsal
in house contest is a trial but workshop or proper explanation beforehand is useful

It is about TM YI‘ s funny experience when he was assigned to Philippine and Indonesia related to problems with each local languages several decades ago.

Individual Evaluation by TM RY (2 min 53 sec)

TM RY concluded that it is good to:

Stand up and be closed because it is easy to say something and people get more familiar to each other
Decide the order to present personal opinion, such as in a clockwise turn.
Use both language English or Japanese, so that we do not have language barrier and focus better on our thought.
To give more time to think during brainstorming in order to decide smoothly
Have an “incredible” democratic brainstorming

Today’s meeting was very special and very good.
TM TK and TM RY did a very difficult project
TM YI did a joke master which is not an easy task.
TM SS was cheering up the meeting very well.
No serious grammatical problem (according to TM YI)
However ,we need to control time better next time.

AC Facilitating Discussion #2; The Brainstorming Session

Title “What is the best way to increase attendees at our regular meetings?”

TM MH planned and facilitated this brainstorming session to solve the problem of our club. Participants were encouraged to tell their idea in the discussion, finally 14 ideas were generated and three best ways were identified; 1) Make a meeting attractive, 2) Home page attractive in building and 3) Check if members are satisfied.

TM WS commented three good points 1) clarified the objective and to explain the process step by step, 2) kept a neutral position as a facilitator, 3) achieved a solution to the problem.  And she suggested it could have been better to support anyone who had not said his/her opinion.

タイトル「耳をすませば」

一晩に何十センチも積もる雪、深々と静かに降り積もる雪、雪国ならではの履物にまつわる話から、子どもの頃のおじい様との心温まる思い出へとつながる内容について話されました。

個人論評２　　TM KenI (2m35s)

心温まるすばらしいスピーチでした。特によかった点は、「目を閉じてください」の出だし、次に「雪」（冷たさ）と「祖父への思い出」（暖かさ）という対比、そして身近なものを使った表現方法で技巧がこらされている点でした。ただ、全体としては表現が描写にかたよっていた感じがするので、祖父との会話などを入れるなどの工夫があるとよいのではないかと提案されました。

General Evaluations/総合論評　TM YT

TM YT commented and suggested about all the contents of the meeting.  For example; the presentation of ‘Word of the day’, it was necessary to explain the meaning of difference of the words and examples of usage along with situation.  Prepared Speech 1, the facilitator conducted successfully the brainstorming session to solve the problem. And also she talked about the need of the role assignments properly.

準備スピーチ２（日本語の部）では、タイトル、内容ともにすばらしいものでした。このスピーチに対する論評についても的確なものでした。

会計係から、2011年10月～2012年３月までの会費納入のお知らせがありました。

エリアガバナーから　CC. Campaign への協力依頼がありました。

新規メンバー1名の入会式が無事、執り行われました。
